Summer Camp is packed with epic fun you can’t find anywhere else—like late-night games, outdoor adventures, campfire worship, and powerful moments with God and friends! River Students Summer Camp is an overnight camp that takes place at New Life Camp in Rose City, MI.

This year’s camp theme is Wholehearted. Messages for the week will be focused on what it truly means to follow God with everything we have. As we look at the lives of King Saul and King David in 1 Samuel, we’ll see two very different kinds of hearts—one that was divided and resistant to God, and one that was fully surrendered to Him.

Throughout the week, we’ll wrestle with an important question: What kind of heart do I have? In Ezekiel 36:26, God speaks of replacing a heart of stone with a heart of flesh—a heart that is soft, responsive, and alive to Him. That’s the picture of what it means to live wholeheartedly.

Our prayer is that students won’t just learn about God, but that they would encounter Him in a real way—laying down anything that holds them back and choosing to follow Jesus with their whole heart.

Middle School Camp is for students who have completed 6th-8th grade.
High School Camp is for students who have completed 9th-12th grade.

Phone - (989) 685-2949

Every leader has been background checked, trained, and interviewed. Your student's cabin leader(s) or another leader will be with your student at all times.

If there is a situation that arises, New Life Camp has a health officer that is trained to handle most any medical situation that camp brings. If there is a medical emergency that is above the nurses training, we will contact parents and/or the emergency contact person on your student's registration. If a student is injured to the point of needing medical attention, the parent will be notified.

If you have an emergency at home and need to contact your child, please call the camp's landline (989) 685-2949.

We ensure every parent that camp will be a fun and safe experience for every student. Fighting, bullying, name-calling, and the like are not tolerated. If a student continues to exhibit these behaviors, they will lose privileges, and if they continue to behave in this manner, the student may be asked to leave camp. If this happens, the expense of transporting the student home will be the parent's responsibility.

Before leaving for New Life Camp, we will conduct a baggage check for all camp participants. This is not meant to be intrusive, but to ensure inappropriate or potentially dangerous items do join us at camp. Baggage checks are overseen by the Head of Security and are to be handled with care and by discretion of The River Church Staff.

*Before bringing luggage to departure, please make sure to identify your student's luggage with his/her name written on a piece of duct tape.

Students may use their phones or devices during travel to and from camp. Upon arrival at New Life Camp, cellular service is extremely limited and Wi-Fi is not available. With years of camp experience we highly recommend that students do not use the phone unless it is an emergency, in which case we have a landline available. If your child's camp session has a "lake day," they may bring them and use them during our time at the beach.
