The River Community Center
At the Community Center, we love to serve the community of Holly, and those in our surrounding communities, by providing for physical needs, while also seeking every opportunity to share the Gospel. Our hope at The River Community Center is that the entire community of Holly will feel welcome and know that there is a God and church that loves them by the love that they receive at the Community Center. For more information on how The River Community Center serves to reach our local community, visit the Community Center page.
Hogs in Ministry
Hogs in Ministry is a ministry serving people that much of the world, and many times the Church, has overlooked in the past. Our passion and desire is to reach bikers, inmates in jails and prisons, and to serve those with addiction and recovery needs. We know that the only hope for anyone far from God is the Good News of Jesus Christ, and we want to share the gospel with every person we get the opportunity to encounter and serve.
Road to Recovery
Each Thursday at The River Goodrich, we bus in tons of middle school and high school students from all over the communities we serve. Each student comes and hears the Gospel clearly presented, and our hope is to build meaningful relationships with each student that allows us to show and share the love of Christ. Youth Night is filled with video games, cafe, basketball, open gym, tons of games and activities, and new friends! Our desire is to reach students by sharing the Gospel with all students that come to Youth Night, then connect with their family, and hopefully reach the entire family and community with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
River Kids Club
Each week, we go into the communities we serve and bus elementary-aged kids into our locations at The River Holly and The River Downtown Flint. At each Kids Club, we take every opportunity to show each child the love of Jesus Christ by creating an exciting, fun, loving, and safe environment for kids to come and experience the Gospel. This high-energy, high-impact time is filled with fun activities that kids will leave excited to return the next week! Our desire through River Kids Clubs is to reach kids with the gospel, then their entire family, and eventually the community.
Throughout the year, host a neighborhood party at your home for your neighbors and friends. This is a unique opportunity to connect with your neighbors in a non-threatening way, building relationships with them that will allow you to share the love of Christ with them as relationships are built. Block Party, holiday, and other themes are available. We do all the planning, preparing, and take all the guess work out of hosting a party for you. You just need to step up, have a desire to share Christ with your neighborhood, and want to be hospitable!
We believe the church is meant to be local. We are one church in many locations because of that belief. Along with that belief is the desire to be deeply involved in every community that we have a location, or where we have families living. Throughout the year, these communities have special events, festivals, and needs. Some examples of our community partnerships include: Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce, Grand Blanc Community Schools, Good Times in Goodrich, Goodrich Area Schools, Grand Blanc Family Fun Fest, Goodrich/Atlas Chamber of Commerce, Lapeer Chamber of Commerce, the Crim, Back to the Bricks, and many more. If you know of an upcoming event in your community, or you want to find out how The River is involved in your community, let us know. We would love to get you plugged in!
